Celebration of the 996th Anniversary of the Birth of Su Song Zheng Jian Gong

The association holds an annual commemorative event on the 23rd day of the eleventh month of the lunar calendar to celebrate the birthday of Su Songzhengjian Gong. The purpose of this event is to promote family harmony, strengthen kinship, and honor the ancestors. It serves as a significant means to unite family members and foster goodwill, guiding them to respect the wisdom of their forefathers and promote the moral values of benevolence, love, filial piety, and fraternal respect within the Chinese community. By instilling traditional thoughts of cherishing the past and tracing one’s roots, it aims to inspire enthusiasm for seeking cultural heritage.

Description

On the morning of December 21st, 2016, at 10 o'clock sharp, in the association hall, various offerings were prepared in front of the ancestral altar and the main altar to worship the heavens. The ceremony was led by Daoist priests from the Mixed Yuan Daoist Altar, with the participation of relatives from various clans.

In the evening, a festive dinner celebrating the ancestral birthday was held at Habour Front, Ban Heng Restaurant, with nearly 400 clan members and their families attending. The event provided an opportunity for everyone to get acquainted with their relatives, share family ties, exchange experiences, and strengthen the unity of the same clan and origin. The expected purpose of the event was to show respect to ancestors, uphold virtues, and promote family harmony.
