The financial status of the Association for the year 2023 was reported to the attendees.
After the AGM, the launching ceremony of Soh Clan Chamber of Commerce was held. The Association's former president, Mr. Qi Guo explained to the attendees the purpose of setting up the Chamber of Commerce, being the promotion on the development of the Association, to strengthen the exchanges and co-operation among the members, between the members and with the overseas affiliated associations and chambers of commerce, and attracting more members to join the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber's membership requirements were introduced to the audience. All Association members will be automatically included in the Commerce's membership and they can advertised free of charge on the Chamber's website.Next, the Scholarship and Bursary Awards and Long Service Awards were presented. Since 2015, a number of members have generously donated to the Association's Education Fund, which has provided significant support to the Associate and enables it to benefit students who excel in academics and possessed good conduct, as well as the children of members who come from low-income families. President Xinquan presented the plaques for "Education Fund Sponsors" to sixteen member in full recognition of their contributions to the education cause of the Association over the years: Yihua, Fucheng, Jinde, Liangmei, Nengtong, Jinzhang, Wengui, Yiwei, Yumei, Shangying, Zhaoyuan, Caichao, Yulan, Yonglan, Lixu, and Yuren.
Long Service Award: Mr. Zhen Song joined the Association's committee in 1989 and served our Association in the positions of finance, business, communication, deputy general affairs, property trustee and chairman of the Mutual Aid Association, etc. His untimely death on 18th January this year was a great loss to our Association. In recognition of his dedication to the Association during his lifetime, the President of the Association presented the Plaque of the Long Service Award to his son, Mr Wei Ming.
